Album/Single: Yume Monogatari (夢物語; A dream story)
Review by: Mariëlle.
BREAKERZ is a rock band formed in 2007 by DAIGO, who was formerly known as DAIGO☆STARDUST. The band exists of three members: DAIGO, SHINPEI and AKIHIDE. Their first major debut was their very first album of the same name: BREAKERZ. Since 2007, the band has released several albums and tons of great singles, and have performed live on many occasions for their fans.
And now the three of them are back with their latest single: Yume Monogatari (夢物語; A dream story). The single was released on July 12th, in three different versions. The two limited editions come with DVD material, including the music video.
The title track is called Yume Monogatari (夢物語; A dream story), and was used as the ending theme for the latest Detective Conan episodes. This is a really nice song. It starts off a little dramatic (in a good way!) and then slowly becomes more of a ballad. The chorus is really pretty and it made me feel extremely relaxed. I really recommend the song if you’re feeling sad or if you’re in need to calm down. It’s also a great song to sing along to! It might seem like a strange choice for a title track, I personally expected more heavy rock, but song is good so it doesn’t matter.

Devil or Angel is one of those song: you either hate it or you love it. I personally like it; the instruments are heavier in use than in Yume Monogatari and the change in the way the members use their voices is a very interesting twist. Devil or Angel has a more rock feel than the other songs, which is what the boys are known for.
THE TRAIN’S GONE… was released in an acoustic version. Originally, the song was released in 2007 on the album BREAKERZ. Anyone who know the original song will absolutely love the acoustic version as well. It’s a beautiful song with great lyrics, so I suggest you give it a listen.
Overall, I have to say I was a little surprised by the single. I expected more intense rock, but I wasn’t disappointed with the songs BREAKERZ provided. The title track is a very nice song, and the other tracks make for an interesting and fun listen as well.
I would recommend trying out this single if you can, and if you’ve been a fan for a long time, then you will not be disappointed by their new release.
