Album/Single: Contrail ~軌跡~ (Contrail ~Kiseki~)
Artist: 川田まみ (Kawada Mami)
Review by: Mariëlle
Earlier, In September of 2015, Kawada released her 5th original album called PARABLEPSIA.
And now Kawada Mami gives us something new to look forward to – in the first month of 2016, she impresses us with her unique vocals once again in her new single: Contrail ~軌跡~. The single was released on January 27th, and consists of two new songs. It was released in two versions, a Regular Edition and a Limited Edition.
The title track, Contrail ~軌跡~, is the intro theme for the anime Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm, a Scy-fy romance anime based on the adult game by Sprint/Fairys, where the invention of anti-gravity shoes have enabled people to fly.
The lyrics of the song actually refers to ‘flying’ and how, if you take flight, you can encounter new things and make your dreams come true.
The song sounds cute and cheerful, and both the music and the vocals fit well with the anime. Kawada put up a great performance with this new single, showing her graceful side in the video alongside her unique vocals.
The second track is called Halfway. It is a calm, but powerful sounding track. The music is nice and soft, with a nice beat to back it up. Kawada’s vocals come out really nicely in this song. Halfway fits nicely with Contrail ~Kiseki~, and flows well. I wouldn’t be surprised if this song, too, will be used in an anime.
